Asked the Moon by Minaria La Trosa


I asked the moon; did you ever feel lost?

But got nothing more than a sliver of frost.

But, from where did it all go wrong?

So lost for so long.


Darkness clung around me like a rope,

Even then, I reached out my hand for that once-lost hope.

Specks of sanity found were none,

Without a single tear, I stared at the blood of my loved one.


Disguised me, in the daylight,

As I dazzle in the posture of delight.

Then face my fears at midnight,

While curled up in a crescent, all night.


Darkness was choking me,

No mercy for me.

Still didn’t beg for the miracle to be born,

Even when my heart was torn.


I prayed to God,

I would never believe in miracles, my Lord.

So, provide me with your help in the semblance of a miracle,

To set me free from ill fate's tentacles.


The vision was fading to white

When a miracle cleared out the sight.

And I came face to face,

As I stared into the space.


A miserable fate that saved me

Brought a miracle to me.

Whispering over the wind,

Cunningly, enveloped the mind.


Breathed down on my face

As if bone-chilling wind slapped with grace.

‘I was always there; lingering,

To make sure that you’re still breathing.


I prayed to God,

I would never believe in miracles, my Lord.

So, provide me with your help in the semblance of a miracle,

To set me free from ill fate's tentacles.


I asked the moon; did you ever feel lost?

I asked the moon; did you know that I was never lost?

But got nothing more than a sliver of frost.

So, I smiled knowing that nothing more would be lost.
