And I - A Poem by Sam
And I by Sam
The cross was heavy with my sins
And His blood was running on His chin
My transgression continued to lash His flesh
And His blood in stripes was still fresh
He spit into earth to open my eyes
But I spit on Him to scorn and disgrace
He blessed me with beatitude
and I beat Him with tightly fist with no feud
He clothed me with His goodness
and I stripped Him to play lots in my madness
He crowned me with love and tender mercies
and I crowned Him with thorns and thistles
He stretched His hands in love
but I stretched Him to nail Him on log
He wanted me as a bride by His side
but I brutally speared Him to His side
He led me to still waters to drink
And I gave Him sour vinegar to drink
He promised me that He will be my Rock
But I was standing in the crowd to mock
When the clouds become dark in the day
I realised that Christ is only the way
In His love He died for me
and forgave my sins to never be
